Black Ink & Riso

During this full day workshop, you will learn how to work with Indian black ink, using brush and nib pen techniques. You will then create a design that will be printed in two colours with the risograph printer.

We will be using the riso scanner, as one of its exciting attributes, is the capacity to recreate textures like the ones made with ink.

This workshop is divided into two parts:

The Inky Morning - introduction to black ink & risograph printing

During the first part of the workshop we will dive into black ink -a versatile art material that can be used in many ways. You will learn how to use brush techniques as well as the nib pen in order to create textures and develop ideas for your design. These exercises will also help as your first experimentation with riso.

BREAK - We will have a small break to get lunch.

The Printing Afternoon - From black to colour!

Once you are done with your design we can start printing! Transform your black & white design into a colourful print.
I will explain how the risograph printer works and you will get to print your design in two colours.
At the end of the workshop you will get to take 15 copies of your design to take home.
