Monotype meets Riso! with Peter Hinrichs (Mar 29 - Apr 1)

  • Riso Pop 36 Krugerstraat Amsterdam, NH, 1091 LH Netherlands (map)

The idea of this workshop came about through finding ways of combining traditional media with riso. Normally when making prints by hand, you might produce a very limited amount. This is where the risograph provides the service of, not only duplicating your work, but also bringing a new dimension to your original idea.

In this 2 part workshop you will learn and try out, not only one printing technique, but two! From getting to play with shapes and ink, to then using the risograph printer. Taking home an exciting series of diverse prints!

How does the worksop look like?

Part I - Introduction to Monotype with Peter

In the first part of this workshop, with the help of an underwater theme, you will learn how montype printing works. During this evening Peter will guide you step-by-step on how to create your stencils by hand and then mixing and applying ink to create various prints and textures that will be our base for Part II. You will leave these at the studio to dry.

Part II - Risograph Printing with Aafke

On the 2nd part of the workshop (Saturday the 1st of April) - we will meet again at the studio to now translate your monotypes into risograph prints! We will be creating exciting collages and experimental prints with two to three colours for you to take home.

So not only will you have your monotypes to take home as one time only originals, but also the risoprints to share with friends.

Re-cap:

  • Part I will take place on Wednesday the 29th in the evening.

  • Part II will be on Saturday the 1st of April - you will be able to choose between two blocks, starting at 1pm or 3pm.
