Have you ever thought about combining riso print with embroidery? Are you interested in exploring mixed media?
This FULL DAY workshop might be for you! Riso Pop and Studio Koekoek have joined creative forces, offering a special summer day. You will get the best of both worlds; on this day, we'll be experimenting with riso printing as well as a variaty of embroidery techniques - on both paper and fabric, playing around with different colours and compositions.
This collaboration with our partner Studio Koekoek is a wonderful opportunity to expand your skill set while enjoying the unique environment of both studio’s. This workshop is for everyone who would like to step out of their comfort zone and try things out without pressure.
We've got you covered with all the materials, plus some delicious drinks and snacks. All you need to do is bring your enthusiasm and creativity!
Workshop Overview
Botanical Prints at Riso Pop - 10:00am – 1:00pm
The day starts at the Riso Pop studio, where we will have a nice collection of inspiration ready for you! We will use small drawing exercises to help you come up with a design. You will also get an extensive introduction to the risograph printer, getting familiar with the technique before you start working on your design. At the end of the morning, you will have your very own collection of riso prints that you can share with friends and family!
Lunch break & Change of Studios!
Embroidery at Koekoek - 2:00pm – 5:00pm
The afternoon session continues at Studio Koekoek. Here, you will learn which factors to consider when working with textile. Feel free to either replicate your riso design or take inspiration from its colours and shapes to create a completely different embroidery piece. We help you select the most suitable stitch and thread colours. After that, you’ll have time to start your embroidery project.
At the end of this day you will take home: a set of 10 riso prints with your design, and an embroidery piece to finish at home.
