Curious about needle felting? Learn how to make your felting dreams come true with LeBrie Rich of PenFelt Studio!

In this class, you'll go on a step-by-step journey to learn all about needle felting.

Warning: felting is super fun and can be habit-forming. Get ready for your new favorite crafting obsession!

What will you learn?

  • Get to know the essential felting tools: needles, fiber and pad. Choosing the right tools makes felting a joy!

  • Different types of wool fibers and how to choose what’s best for your project.

  • Building up 3D shapes with the felting needle. Sculpting wool is easy and satisfying.

  • Blending colors and adding shading for subtle details.

    At the end of the class, you will have a handful of beautiful felted strawberries and peas, just in time for spring. But more importantly, you will be confident approaching any needle felting project with all the foundational techniques you have practiced.

Who is LeBrie?

Known to some as Duchess of Felt, LeBrie is best known for her highly realistic sculptures of food packaging rendered in felt. She founded PenFelt studio in 2004 in Portland Oregon and recently moved to The Netherlands.

LeBrie has taught workshops at colleges, art studios, and fiber festivals all over the world—from a small village in the mountains of Japan to New York City. In addition to custom work for private clients, LeBrie has worked with Bent Image Lab, Nike, and a sustainable diaper manufacturer who needed a presentation box made out of felt for Kate Middleton (the Duchess of Cambridge). .
