Color Mixing Course!
Are you looking to take your riso designs to the next level? Our master colour mixing course is just what you need! Over three days, you'll gain a deep understanding of how riso colours mix and learn how to create balanced, visually striking designs.
Our course covers everything you need to know about colour theory and how to mix colours efficiently. We'll also explore the key factors to consider when designing for riso printing, so you can ensure your end result is what you envisioned.
But this course isn't just about theory – you'll also get hands-on experience with a series of assignments that allow you to put your new knowledge into practice. By the end of the course, you'll have printed multiple works using the techniques you've learned, giving you the confidence to take on even more ambitious projects.
When and Where?
This 3 day course starts on Friday the 14th of July and ends on Sunday the 16th.
The times below include a lunch break of 45min.
Friday: 10am to 5pm
Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sunday: 10am to 4pm (with a celebratory drink at the end!)
How is the course set up?
To make the most of our colour mixing course, participants should come prepared with either an iPad with drawing software or a laptop with Photoshop (or another program that they feel comfortable using). Before the course starts, we'll provide you with information on how to prepare and get ready, so you can feel confident and ready to dive in from day one.
During the mornings, we'll explore colour theory and you'll receive an explanation of the daily assignment. In the afternoons, we'll put theory into practice by printing and creating multiple works based on the techniques we've learned.
Each day will conclude with a group discussion of our results, so you can share your progress and receive feedback from myself and other participants.
We will end the course with printing your personal project piece.
Why this course?
At Riso Pop, we're known for our one-off workshops that provide a great introduction to risograph printing. However, we wanted to offer something more – a longer course that allows for a more intimate and hands-on approach to the printing experience. That's why we're excited to offer our master colour mixing course.
As an illustrator myself, I know that colour is key and it can make or break an illustration. And when using riso, we are even more constrained to the colours provided to us. During this three-day course, you'll learn about the fundamentals of colour mixing theory and how to create balanced, visually striking riso prints.
By spending three days at the studio, you'll have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the printing experience and receive personalized feedback on your work.
This is also why this will be a small course with max 5 participants.
