Inky Drawings & Riso
Join us on this two mornings workshop where we use various techniques to create an exciting riso print!
During this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to unleash your creativity using black ink. We’ll be making strokes, spatters, and blotches and experimenting with different textures. These will serve as the foundation for your collage illustration, and ultimately your riso print!
At the end of the workshop, you'll be taking a series of original prints with you. This means you'll have tangible pieces of your artwork, printed in riso.
Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned artist, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into the endless possibilities offered by the riso scanner. Discover new techniques, hone your skills, and unlock the potential of this machine.
Part I- Introduction to black ink & risograph printing
During the first part of the workshop we will start with an introduction to risograph printing and we dive right into black ink! A versatile art material that can be used in many ways. You will learn how to use the ink together with other materials to make interesting textures and effects.
After creating a library of textures, we will do a fun experimental print so you can see how textures translate into risograph.
We then get the scissors and scalpels out to start making shapes for our collage. We will talk about composition and collage illustration for riso.
Part II - From black to colour!
On our 2nd day, you can time to continue with your design. When ready we can transform your black & white design into a colourful print!
You will learn the details of the scanner menu and get to handle the machine as you print your work with the riso printer.
