Let’s make a classic riso product:
a Folded Zine!

During this workshop you will not only learn the basics about RISO printing, but we will also dip our toes into the world of zine making! Tell your story and produce a product ready to be shared with friends or to be sold in your online shop ;)

A zine is a self-published booklet; it can be a comic, collage, text. Completely up to you!

What will you make?

Our theme for the evening will be ‘travel stories’ or summer adventures. Use this time to look back at this past few months and make a small zine to rememeber the best bits!

You will create a 8 page folded zine (booklet) that opens up into a poster. A zine can be on any subject you want, examples of previous participants: recipes, a short story, a poem, pictures or a series of drawings.

Learn to plan your layout and make the most impact with your zine.

I will show you some examples of zines, provide you with a template as well as guidance.

How does the workshop look like?

Prep at home:

Before our printing session, you will get access to the workshop page to find the handout alongside videos, that will guide you step by step on how to plan and prepare your design. You will have time to think about the layout of your zine and what you want to make.

At the studio:

We will welcome you on Saturday for the printing session with a nice coffee/tea ;) After a brief introduction to our riso printer, you will have time to keep working on your zine. We will look at your ideas and files, and if ready, we’ll start printing!

If time allows - you can also print a poster at the back of your zine.

You will print in 2 colours and take 15 zines home, together with those of your peers :)

> Just an ipad with drawing apps? No problem!
